Partners' Connected Health Symposium -- some of the winning innovations

Partners’ Connected Health Symposium 2016 – note the aging opportunity. Over the years of this event, a session here and a speaker there occasionally talked about an aging society – and what it means. But aging is today’s health business reality. First, the first keynote was about the innovation opportunity – delivered by AARP’s JoAnn Jenkins.  The pitch-off event ‘supporting cognitive function as we age’ also included AARP judges viewing submissions of the four finalists – and the Avatar for tracking health and exercise that won.  Upcoming: the 2017 merger of this conference into the Personal Connected Health Alliance (PCHA) and its Connected Health Conference event (formerly known as the mHealth Summit). With material from the firms themselves, 2016 innovation winners included:

HearandKnow. "Active in the Internet of things and connected objects, we specialize in conceiving communicating and locating objects. Our GPS-free location solutions are effective indoor and outdoor for finding people and tracking valuable assets.  Location improves over time: as a "self-learning" system, the Periplus database continuously improves over time, increasing the density of cellular observations with GPS fixes during normal operation. SecureTrip works worldwide on any cellular network (2G, 3G, 4G)." Learn more at HearandKnow.

Dacadoo. "Live healthy and active with dacadoo. We measure your health with the Health Score and engage you to actively manage your health in an easy and fun way. The Health Score is a scientifically calculated number from 1 (low) to 1,000 (high) and it is based on who you are (body), how you feel (feelings) and how you live (lifestyle). We’re developing applications that help you turn the “numbers” into meaningful insights you can put into action: like discovering ways to manage your time more effectively, live with less stress, or get a better night’s sleep. By creating tools for taking control of your data, we want to help make internet services more transparent — so we take our own standards for privacy and security very seriously. We encourage you to take a look at our privacy policy and terms of use, and stay tuned to our blog to keep informed about the web applications you use everyday." Learn more at Sherbit
