The Future of Home Care Technology Survey

Home care technology use needs to be understood now.  Today there are a plethora of surveys in health and aging services topics – ranging from consumer preferences about housing (MetLife), technology product use (Pew and Nielsen), and family caregiver concerns and health technology adoption (National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP). But there are no recent surveys about the use of technology among skilled home health providers, geriatric care management and non-skilled/companion care

An online survey of supervisors of home care, geriatric care management, and home health care is underway.  The survey project, sponsored by Microsoft, Philips and LivHOME, targets supervisors/managers of home care companion aides, home health aides, and geriatric care workers and asks them about technologies used today. It is available in the form of the following link:

http://www.ageinplacetech.com/homecaresurvey

This link can be e-mailed out to the appropriate groups in your organization or that of your partners. Each survey will be uniquely identified by e-mail address to avoid duplicates. The survey is intended for managers/supervisors and includes a screening question to verify their role. In addition, at the end of the survey period extended through May 31, a drawing of one e-mail address will be used to enable awarding of a new tablet computer; the participants will also be e-mailed the final report. The results will be presented during the summer in a free report, reported first to the sponsoring organizations and then made available at http://www.ageinplacetech.com and other websites.

Please help make this a great survey and report by promoting the project and circulating this e-mail with its link -- or posting it online wherever you believe supervisors/managers of home care companion aides, home health aides, and geriatric care workers might find it. Your e-mail address will not be sold, re-used for this blog or otherwise mishandled in any way. Thank you for your support!

Will disseminate word about this. This is a very important survey so we can know if we are up to date when it comes to caregiver technology and if not we can at least improve it.
