Care@HomeTM recognized for excellence in IoT-enabled technology

Tel Aviv – December 14, 2015 – Essence, a leading provider of IoT, cloud-based connected living solutions, won the Most Innovative Device Solution award for its groundbreaking Care@HomeTM from Total Telecom at its Second Annual Internet of Things Awards (IOTA), the first industry award to recognize companies for excellence in IoT-enabling technologies.

Care@HomeTM won for its intelligent use of passive detection devices to seamlessly track the behavior of seniors. It allows service providers to offer their customers services ranging from emergency alerting to a professional intelligent home care solution, which constantly learns and adapts to the daily behavior of individuals and provides alerts with different severity levels based on deviation from the daily routine.

“Essence’s focus on the end user ensures that our solutions allow health service providers to deliver security and peace of mind to seniors and their families,” said Haim Amir, Essence founder and CEO. “This award recognizes the fact that the intelligent Care@Home solution has reached full maturity, field tested and proven to promote health and independence, allowing seniors to remain in their own homes.”

Essence recently partnered with Hills, Australia’s leading medical technology provider, to distribute Care@Home countrywide, demonstrating the ever-increasing demand for technology like Care@Home among the growing aging populations.

The major criteria for the projects eligible for the awards were those that have achieved measurable results and recognition in the judging period and “clear evidence of innovation and a plan for sustainable success.”

The awards were sponsored by leading players from the industry, including ADVA, AsiaInfo, CITIC Telecom CPC, IDT Telecom, PCCW Global, Tata Communications, TeliaSonera International Carrier and Vodafone.

The IOTA award follows on the heels of Care@Home winning the ESX Innovation awards in the Digital Health/Well-Being Systems category at the ESX professional security exhibition in the United States in June 2015.

Care@Home and WeR@Home, Essence’s two flagship products, will be available for demo at CES in January at the Sands Convention Center Smart Home section, booth #70958.
