70% FEWER FALLS ACHIEVED IN 2 MONTHS AT FELLOWSHIP SQUARE

Mesa, AZ, September 20, 2024 -- Fellowship Square Mesa announced today a significant achievement in fall prevention among its residents, thanks to the installation of Helpany’s innovative AI and radar-based device, “Paul,” in every assisted living apartment. Within just two months, Fellowship Square Mesa has seen a 70% reduction in falls, marking a major milestone in resident safety and care.

Helpany’s Paul has been a game-changer, identifying residents at risk by analyzing their unique motion patterns and providing real-time preventive notifications to caregivers. The Helpany technology enables caregivers to spot changes in residents’ conditions and prevents potential falls before they occur, especially during nighttime when falls were previously more common. The Helpany device functions as a 24/7 virtual caregiver assistant, significantly enhancing care capabilities and supporting monitoring for timely, effective interventions.

“Falls are a major concern for every senior community and at Fellowship Square Mesa, we aimed to pioneer effective fall prevention strategies while preserving the independence and dignity of our residents,” said Jon Scott Williams, Executive Director of Fellowship Square Mesa. “With Helpany, we can identify residents at risk and assist them proactively, leading to higher resident satisfaction, fewer falls and longer resident relationships.”

Invasive methods, like camera-based monitoring systems, intrude on privacy and undermine residents’ dignity. Determined to avoid such privacy-invading solutions, Fellowship Square Mesa chose Helpany’s AI and radar-based technology, which effectively mitigates falls while ensuring residents’ privacy and dignity. “Thanks to Helpany, we not only have reduced falls by 70%, but have also enhanced our efficiency and effectiveness, allowing us to further elevate the quality of care we provide,” added Tawnya Christensen, Assisted Living Director at Fellowship Square Mesa. “The technology allowed us to radically transform our fall prevention efforts, creating a safer environment for our residents, fostering a strong culture of fall prevention among staff, and reducing anxiety for family members.”

Impact of AI and Radar-Enhanced Care at Fellowship Square Mesa (as of September 4, 2024):

70% Fewer Falls: Fellowship Square Mesa reported a 70% reduction in falls in two months compared to their long-term monthly average fall rate.

Nighttime Falls Reduced to Zero: Through Helpany’s preventive notifications, caregivers have been able to respond quickly and effectively, completely eliminating nighttime falls during this timeframe.

Lower Severe Fall Rates: They successfully lowered their severe fall rates, kept fall-related ER visits significantly below industry norms, and fostered a strong culture of fall prevention among their staff during this timeframe.

Significant Value to Residents: In just two months, the enhanced fall prevention efforts have provided over $200,000 in value to residents compared to staffing nighttime companions. This demonstrates a strong return on investment and reinforces a culture of fall prevention among staff.

Helpany’s technology has enabled Fellowship Square Mesa to set a new standard in senior care, combining privacy-preserving technology with compassionate caregiving to provide a safer, more supportive environment for its residents.
