MobileHelp(R) Unveils Results of New Healthcare Provider Survey

BOCA RATON, FL--(Marketwired - June 30, 2017) - MobileHelp®, a leader in mobile Personal Emergency Response System (mPERS) and healthcare technology solutions, today reported that nearly 30 percent of healthcare providers have implemented telehealth programs into their clinical operations. This data point was part of the results of an extensive survey of healthcare providers conducted by the company.

The survey also revealed that more than 85 percent of healthcare providers not currently using telehealth services see the clear benefit. Of those currently not using telehealth technology, nearly 25 percent reported they are looking to implement it within twelve months.

"We have found the results of our survey to be consistent with what our healthcare provider partners have shared with us: telehealth is a means to improve patient access and provider efficiency, especially as value-based care and reimbursement incentives provide a greater share of revenue," said Chris A. Otto, SVP of the MobileHelp Healthcare Division. "Telehealth solutions are being used increasingly to provide the connection point between chronically ill patients and healthcare providers, and extend the care continuum beyond the traditional healthcare system."

The survey also indicated that providers were looking to telehealth technology to provide additional, or supplementary, services. For example, nearly 65 percent of the respondents reported it would be of benefit to their patients to have a medical alert device combined with a telehealth solution.

Healthcare providers also cited some implementation challenges: More than 32 percent said a system was fiscally out of reach due to high up front equipment costs. Another 18 percent said it also required an oversight plan they do not have in place.

"Gathering this data was instrumental in creating the structure for our telehealth business model," continued Mr. Otto. "We have therefore been able to bring a telehealth solution to market that not only addresses key provider concerns, but provides additional features and benefits, such as a combined telehealth and medical alert system."

The results of the MobileHelp survey are also discussed in a white paper and summary video, featured here on the company website.
