BioSensics™ Launches ActivePERS™ Fall Detection and Telemonitoring Solution for Seniors

BioSensics has launched ActivePERS™, an advanced personal emergency response and telemonitoring solution for seniors. ActivePERS features patented and clinically validated automatic fall detection algorithms developed with support from the National Institute of Health (NIH), and in collaboration with the University of Arizona Medical School and the Arizona Center on Aging. Other features of ActivePERS include continuous monitoring of physical activity and compliance alerts (that indicate if the sensor is not being worn). BioSensics plans to add its patented and clinically validated “Fall Risk Assessment” technology to ActivePERS before the end of the year.

“Our goal was to create the most comprehensive medical alert and telemonitoring solution available for seniors. With over 10 years of research behind ActivePERS, we are excited about its impact on the safety and quality of life of our growing elderly population”
-Dr. Joseph Gwin,
Vice President of Research & Development at BioSensics

ActivePERS technology is available through algorithm licensing or direct deployment of ActivePERS pendants designed to integrate with a variety of remote monitoring platforms including the 2net Hub. ActivePERS pendants are currently available through remote monitoring platforms offered by Care Technology Systems (ActiveCare™ Pendant) and Aventyn (Vitalbeat™ Platform). Additional integration efforts are underway with Astute Inc, Tactio Health, MedM, Vivify Health, Monitored Therapeutics, Dignio, and Alleato. In addition, several mPERS and PERS pendants powered by ActivePERS technology are planned for release in 2014, including products from Embedded Wireless, Mytrex Inc. and Rescue Alert. Richard Bangerter, CEO of Mytrex Inc. and Rescue Alert, said “At Mytrex and Rescue Alert, we are always looking to offer cutting edge features as a part of our monitoring and emergency response solutions. We are excited to partner with BioSensics and integrate their ActivePERS technology in our platforms.”
