STANLEY Healthcare Partners with BAM Labs to Offer Award-Winning Patient Safety Monitoring Solution to its Healthcare Customers

WALTHAM, Mass., October 28, 2013 — STANLEY Healthcare, a market leading provider of safety, security and operational efficiency solutions for the healthcare industry, and BAM Labs, a Silicon Valley-based innovator in digital health solutions, today announced that they have formed a joint integration and distribution agreement.

Driven by this partnership, the new STANLEY Healthcare Patient Safety Monitoring solution is designed to address today's most pressing care issues, including the reduction of pressure ulcers and patient falls, while improving staff efficiency. The solution leverages BAM Labs' non-invasive, under-mattress sensor pad, to provide caregivers with timely and reliable trending information via PC or mobile device, thereby enabling individualized care planning and proactive interventions.

Based on proven STANLEY Healthcare and BAM Labs technologies, the STANLEY Healthcare Patient Safety Monitoring solution improves both the safety and clinical outcomes for patients and long-term care residents by capturing:

  • Bed exit

  • Position changes

  • Sleep patterns

  • Vital sign trends

"This year continues to be a period of rapid innovation for STANLEY Healthcare, and our partnership with BAM Labs further extends the capabilities of our solution suite," said Jason Santamaria, President of STANLEY Healthcare. "The ability to monitor

movement, sleep patterns and vital sign trending safely and easily with a completely touch-free solution will enable our customers to provide better care for their patients and residents, while enabling a more comfortable and dignified patient experience."

"We are thrilled to partner with STANLEY Healthcare, a world-class brand focused on transforming patient care, and the industry leader in several categories, including fall mangement," said Richard Rifredi, co-founder and CEO of BAM Labs. "BAM Labs' ability to affordably turn any bed into a ‘smart bed' with our innovative touch-free biometric sensor and cloud platform is the logical evolutionary step for improved fall management and reduced incidence of pressure ulcers for STANLEY Healthcare's loyal customers."

Facilities with the BAM Labs technology in place continue to report positive results. Alex Candalla, Executive Director of The Terraces of Los Gatos in San Jose, CA has stated that the solution "is elegant, non-obtrusive and simple to install and use, and has become an important tool to help our caregivers provide immediate care when needed, allowing our residents to live more independently." Through use of the system, The Terraces recently won top honors in McKnight's Excellence in Technology Awards for dignity in technology.

The STANLEY Healthcare Patient Safety Monitoring solution will be presented Oct. 27- 30, 2013 at the LeadingAge Annual Meeting and EXPO in Dallas, TX and is now available for purchase throughout the U.S. and Canada.
