I love this site -- Astimegoesby.net and its 'The Elder Storytelling Place.' There are probably sites all over the Internet like this -- but this is one I stumbled upon. So much energy about aging in place tech for safety, health and its correlary -- monitoring. What about just communicating? And talking -- and being heard? Check it out -- as you think about aging in place, let's make sure we have plenty of references to these. Ronni Bennett (who runs the As Time Goes By site) quotes Carl Jung on aging:
"Among Carl Jung’s seven tasks of aging is to find meaning in one’s life and one way to help in this task is to pull together, piece by piece, one’s memories – great and small – into a coherent storyline. In doing so, there is a natural shift of our attention inward, says Jung, leading to the removal of regret and to reconciliation. In telling our stories we not only fulfill Jung’s task for ourselves, we pass on the wisdom we have gained to those who listen or read."

Great idea
Thank you for passing along information about this website. I think it's a wonderful idea. I've done some videoing not only of my parents telling the story of their younger years (both were WWII refugees) but also of elderly neighbors. Capturing their words (and in my cases their faces and voices) for posterity is priceless.
I also think the technology info you are providing is fantastic. I have been looking for just such a source of information for some time.
